NORDIC TELECOM TO USE BROADVISION SOFTWARE

REDWOOD CITY - TeliaSonera, a pan-Nordic telecommunications company, has signed a deal with BroadVision Inc. to use the California-based company's commerce solution software to provide personalized sales, marketing, service, and support to its customers in Sweden and Finland.

Formed last year by the merger of Telia of Sweden and Sonera of Finland, the Stockholm-based company has 12 million wireless subscribers in Nordic and Baltic countries and more than 7 million landlines in Sweden and Finland.

BroadVision's commerce solution software will enable TeliaSonera to provide personalized service while reducing call center costs and increasing revenue through offers that reflect an understanding of customer needs, interests and prior purchases, according to a company press release.

TeliaSonera is one of over 40 leading telco companies - including Beijing Telecom, Chunghwa Telecom, Ireland-based Eircom, France Telecom, Hutchison Essar of India, Japan Telecom, Saudi Telecom, Mexico's Telmex, Turkcell of Turkey, and UK's Vodafone - that are using BroadVision applications to power and unify their portal initiatives.

Global users of BroadVision's software serve a total of more than 60 million customers, the release said.

BroadVision software is also embedded in the 3G systems developed by Ericsson, the world's largest mobile systems supplier.
